Product Formats

Cell Lines

Frozen ampoule (2-3 x 106 cells1,2, volume: 1ml, ampoule size:1.8ml). Dispatched on dry ice (solid CO2, <-78.5°C), store at <-135°C (gas phase liquid nitrogen) (do not store above this temperature).

1. Fewer cells may be supplied for some fastidious cell lines.

2. Primary cells are generally supplied at approximately 5 x 105 cells per ampoule. See product listing for cell numbers.

Growing Culture (25cm2 flask). Dispatched at ambient temperature. Larger volumes can be quoted for on request

Assay Ready Cells. Prepared according to customer requirements e.g. 96 well plates for high throughput screening.

Cell Pellets. Frozen cell pellets prepared according to customer requirements e.g. ready for DNA or RNA extraction, or for preparation of slides for immunocytochemistry. dispatched on dry ice (solid CO2, <-78.5°C)

 

DNA

10µg, 50µg or 100µg aliquots supplied as frozen solutions at 100ng/µl in 10mM Tris (pH 8.0) 1 mM EDTA. Dispatched on dry ice (solid CO2, <-78.5°C). Larger quantities are available - please enquire.

DNA Panels. 8 x 12 well format, 96 x 2µg/µl, 100ng/µl per well. Dispatched on dry ice (solid CO2, <-78.5°C) or at +4°C, depending on destination.

 

RNA

5µg aliquots supplied as frozen solutions at 100ng/µl in 10mM Tris (pH 8.0) 1 mM EDTA. Dispatched on dry ice (solid CO2, <-78.5°C). Larger quantities are available - please enquire.

 

cDNA

20µl aliquots supplied as frozen solutions.  These are generated from the reverse transcription of 1µg of total RNA.  Typically 1µl is recommended in a standard block based PCR assay.  Dispatched on dry ice.

 

Primary Cell Media

Each specialised growth medium is provided in kit form consisting of the basal medium plus required supplements supplied frozen at -20°C. Dispatched on dry ice (solid CO2, <-78.5°C). Store at -20°C.

 

Cytofect Transfection Kits

The Transfection Kits contain all the necessary reagents and media for transfection. Optimal transfection protocols are provided in the kits to carry out successful transfection. These are liquid reagents, dispatched on blue ice (~+ 4°C). Store at + 4°C.

 

Bacteria

Freeze Dried Culture. Glass ampoule, flame sealed under vacuum, containing approximately 0.2 ml freeze-dried suspension of about 106 colony-forming units. Each ampoule is individually packed in a plastic tube. Dispatched at ambient temperature. Store at + 4°C.

LENTICULE discs. A small range of bacterial strains are supplied as LENTICULE discs, which are control-dried discs containing biologically active bacteria in a water-soluble matrix. Each disc comes individually packed in a plastic tube. Dispatched at ambient temperature. Long-term storage at -20°C (+/- 5°C). Viability and count are not affected significantly following short periods at ambient temperature.

 

Fungi

Freeze Dried Culture. Glass ampoule, flame sealed under vacuum, containing approximately 0.2 ml freeze-dried suspension of about 106 colony-forming units. Each ampoule is individually packed in a plastic tube. Dispatched at ambient temperature. Store at + 4°C.

 

Viruses

Frozen ampoule. (volume: 1ml, ampoule size: 1.8ml). Dispatched on dry ice (solid CO2, <-78.5°C)
