Are you ready for your UKAS inspection for ISO 15819:2012?

How to open glass ampoules - HOMEPAGE

Medical laboratories are currently in a period of transition. Having previously been accredited to CPA (Clinical Pathology Accreditation) standards, most are now working towards UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation) accreditation to the internationally recognised international standard ISO 15189:2012 - Medical laboratories - Requirements for quality and competence. The standard includes specific requirements regarding quality control materials. There is a strong emphasis within ISO 15189:2012 that independent third party control materials should be considered where ever possible, in addition to those provided as part of a diagnostic kit or by the manufacturers of diagnostic instruments.

NCTC control strains are an ideal solution to help you meet your requirements for ISO 15819:2012. NCTC strains are fully authenticated and the quality control tests undertaken within our own laboratory are accredited to ISO 17025:2005 --General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories and certified to ISO 9001 standards. If you require a copy of our accreditation certificates or if you currently use NCTC control strains but have misplaced  crucial documents such as Certificates of Analysis or Material Safety Data Sheets) please be reassured that they are available and can be downloaded from the Culture Collections website. If you are still looking for a specific biological control strain and require some help why not contact one of our skilled scientists for some advice on culturecollections.technical@phe.gov.uk
