Cell Line Description

LIM2551 was derived from an adenocarcinoma of the transverse colon. This cell line is distributed by ECACC on behalf of CellBank Australia, Children's Medical Research Institute, Westmead, NSW 2145, Australia. All stock supplied is manufactured and Quality Control released at source by Cell Bank Australia. CellBank Australia reference number: CBA-0170.

Subculture Routine

Optimal split ratio 1:8-1:16 (seeding density 1 x 10⁴ cells/cm²). Cells incubated at 37°C with 5% CO₂. Harvest the cells using 0.05% Trypsin/EDTA at 37°C for 5 min. LIM2551 requires the growth medium to be changed 3 times each week. Feed and passage as for semi-adherent culture (collect medium with floating cells and then trypsinise the adherent population, pool both together before reseeding)
