Cell Line Description

This cell line was selected by passaging A9 (ECACC catalogue no. 85011426) through syngenic C3H or semi allogenic mice over a period of three months and uptake was considerably higher than A9, thus A9 high uptake or A9HT. Karyotype is similar to A9 but with a slightly reduced total number of chromosomes, with the modal number of 53. This line lacks inosinic acid pyrophosphorylase.
