Cell Line Description

Derived from the lung tissue of a male Chinese hamster. The cells exhibit a high plating efficiency and a doubling time of 12-14 hours. Originally used in the discovery of X-ray induced damage and recovery in mammalian cells. This is a clone of cell line V79 (ECACC catalogue no. 86041102).

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:6 to 1:14 i.e. seeding at 3x10,000-1x100,000 cells/cm²; 5% CO₂; 37°C using 0.05% trypsin/EDTA.
